Offered for sale is an antique silverplate asparagus server from the late 19th or early 20th century in the style of French asparagus clamps of the nineteenth century. No maker's mark - rare design - art deco period c1920-30 - heavy and quality silver plate spring hinged server - usually acquainted with asparagus - asparagus hand tongs - marked only '254' on the inner frame - lovely design of ribbed applied border with a stylized scallop shell - measures 3 x 4 x 2 1/2 inches and weighs a hefty 7.4 ounces on my postal scale.
